5 Reasons Why The Internet May Go Slow

Internet slows me down

One of the main concerns of users who do not have extensive experience in the use of Internet is that sometimes the Internet is going slower than they expect . This can be due to poor installation of the Wifi network, low speed, poor coverage or poor distribution of equipment in the physical space. However, in other occasions slow internet comes from some extension of the browser or program that has been installed.
In this article we present some of the common problems that an Internet connection may run slower than expected. If you have any of these problems or another that you have not put here and do not know why the Internet is slow, add it at the end in the comments so we try to help you.

Typical Internet Problems

The speed at which Internet will depend on many factors, not only connection you have hired, or type of network. There are several typical problems that make our connection go slow, but that can be easily solved.
1. You have installed a browser bar. Some download pages force you to download an advertising bar, change the home page and make everything work more slowly. Try not to download these types of bars, be aware of the conditions and clean your browser.
2. You have installed some extension of Chrome or Firefox that slows the navigation. Some extensions we install voluntarily, but others may have been installed in disguise and now we are hurting. Many times they are pure publicity. To fix this, you have to go to the menu "tools" and then "extensions" in both Firefox and Chrome and then delete what you do not need.
3. You have several home pages. Having too many startup pages can make your browser take a long time to boot. This is not a problem of the speed of your Wifi, but of the appropriate uses of the Internet. It is advisable to have a home page, which you will use more. Occasionally, it takes too long to start the browser may be because you have configured these pages yourself and in that case you will have to see if you are interested. In others, it is advertising that has been installed on your browser.
4. You have malicious software subtracting speed. Sometimes a Trojan or a spyware tries to replicate itself through the Internet, subtracting speed to your connection. It's as if they've slowed you down to half or more, since somebody is consuming you bandwidth and surely making a lot of skirmishes that you ignore. In this case, put in the hands of a computer service as soon as possible (we are in Madrid, but we can help by remote control).
5. It's not your problem. Sometimes it is not your network speed that fails, but the pages you are entering. Or the RAM you have, so it's not just the Internet, but any program. There are web pages that require high speed to work well, as they have a lot of animations in Flash , banners and pop-ups that are slow to load.
What other problems have you encountered that make the Internet go slow?
