5 things you can do with your old computer

Old PCs

When our company decides to buy new computers, it may be due to the previous ones being damaged and must be replaced. But on other occasions this is not done because they have stopped working, but because we want to have computers with higher performance and quality. For example, replace PC by MAC .
What use then we give the old computers ? Can we reuse them for any purpose, or throw them away? In this article I am going to give you a list of possible uses that you can give them once you have verified that they still work.

Things you can do with old computers

Well, the first thing you need to do before anything is emptied of all important files . If you already have everything, everything stored in the new ones, and you have verified that things work correctly, you can format them and install them again the operating system. For example, installers Ubuntu Linux or a Windows 7 or XP. Deleting files is not enough. Formatting them is the best option.
Then there are a number of uses you can give the old PCs:
1. Use it as replacement equipment. When you break a computer, we always put the cry in the sky because you can not work. That makes us lose time and money. What better than having your own replacement computers? Store them in a clean place and have them connected for use at the right time.
2. Use it to download files. We have talked a lot about not having to use the company's computer to download files with P2P networks, since there is a greater risk of virus infection. However, you can dedicate your old PC to perform these operations of continuous file download and data mining.
3. Turn it into a server. Creating a server stable enough in an SME environment is not easy and less with an old computer. It also carries extra costs of light and Internet (a server must be 24 hours on to serve something), so you must keep it in mind. If you are clear that you are going to create a server, you can take advantage of the old PC components by buying an Intel or AMD server processor.
4. Sell your computer. If you see that you will not need as many replacement computers, and your computers still work well, you have the option of selling them to a second-hand computer company. Another option is to use channels like Ebay to try to recover some of the investment.
5. Make it available to the customer. In some companies it may be appropriate to put a "common computer" in the lobby so that customers who want it can use it freely and entertain themselves while they wait or make an inquiry. It depends on your type of business, it can be something convenient or not.
What other recommendations do you give to old computers? What did you do with your old PC to change it? Tell me about it in the comments.
